QuickTel EMS 2.0
Overview

The QuickTel EMS 2.0 is a flexible and full-featured element management system (EMS) that provides centralized management and control of geographically-dispersed QuickTel µMSPP nodes and subnetworks.

The EMS supports a client-server model and is built using portable Java technology and a fast and reliable SQL database engine. The EMS software runs on a PC-based Linux platform that results in a cost-effective and scalable deployment.

Multiple EMS clients can access the EMS server through a simple web-based interface. You only need simple IP connectivity to the server from both the clients and managed QuickTel elements to manage your network.

The EMS provides full visibility and direct access to all QuickTel nodes and subnetworks within your domain through a simple-to-use but powerful graphical user interface (GUI). Once connected to your QuickTel network, the EMS auto-discovers and displays the interconnection topology of the managed network elements.

With the QuickTel EMS, you can subdivide your network into various layers of administration according to geographical or planning considerations. The EMS allows you to zoom-in and navigate across the various subnetwork layers with ease and flexibility. You can also arrange and place subnetwork and element icons against custom background maps.

For each managed subnetwork and network element, the EMS provides a graphical view of the current alarm conditions in color-coded displays using tables and icons.

The intuitive GUI design helps you to identify areas in the network and equipment that require prompt attention. The EMS provides direct access to each managed element from a centralized location for detailed node configuration and provisioning functions.

The QuickTel EMS facilitates A-to-Z path creation for all TDM and Ethernet/IP data service tributaries. Simple selection of end points and connection attributes is sufficient for the EMS to create end-point and pass-through connections within the QuickTel subnetwork. This powerful feature greatly simplifies service establishment and reduces the operations time and cost required to turn on a revenue bearing service.

The EMS also provides Security features such as secure access to the server with password control and facilities for the display of Audit trails.
